Bears vs. Vikings live score, updates, highlights from ‘Monday Night Football’ game

Week 15 rounds out with two games on Monday night, both of which have major implications in the NFC playoff picture. For the Vikings-Bears game, the outcome could go a long way in deciding the NFC North winner and, possibly, the No. 1 seed.

The Vikings enter the game with an 11-2 record and chasing the Lions for the lead in the NFC North.  Detroit lost on Sunday, dropping to 12-2 on the season, so Minnesota can tie the Lions for first place with a win. While Detroit still owns the tiebreaker due to beating the Vikings earlier in the season, these two teams will meet again in Week 18.

Minnesota’s success is in large part due to the resurgence of Sam Darnold, who is having the best season of his career. In his first season as a Viking, Darnold has started all 13 games and totaled 3,299 passing yards, 28 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions.

The Vikings offense is also anchored by a strong receiving corps, with Justin Jefferson having another stellar season and Jordan Addison breaking out in his second year. Those two players have a combined 1,878 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns this year.

As for the Bears, this hasn’t been the year they expected, as Chicago is currently 4-9 and on a seven-game losing streak. In that span, the Bears fired both their offensive coordinator and head coach. Interim coach Thomas Brown will be leading the team for the second straight week.

No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams has had a rocky first season, producing 2,746 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions in 13 games. He also leads the league in sacks taken with 56, which could come into play against an aggressive Vikings defense.

The last time these two teams played, the Vikings beat the Bears 30-27 in a thrilling overtime game in Chicago. Minnesota has won seven of the past nine matchups against Chicago.
