Dale Earnhardt Jr. car details: Inside the iconic No. 8 Budweiser revival for South Carolina 400
One of stock car racing’s greatest talents will return to asphalt on Saturday night.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. retired from racing in 2016 after a glittering career across NASCAR’s top flight. He did so having donned a pair of different colors, achieving success in both the No. 8 and No. 88 car.
When thinking about Earnhardt’s greatest triumphs — from his first Cup win at Charlotte to his Daytona 500 — most were accomplished while the Budweiser No. 8 was scrawled across his hood and door. He’ll get a chance to make some new memories in the storied paint scheme once more on Saturday, much to the delight of NASCAR enthusiasts across the country.

Here’s what you need to know about Junior’s return on Saturday.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. car details
Earnhardt will take the reins of his signature chariot, the Budweiser No. 8 car, for Saturday’s South Carolina 400 at Florence Motor Speedway.
Earnhardt, 50, famously jockeyed the iconic red-and-black colored thoroughbred from 1999-2007, capturing 17 checkered flags during that span, including his momentous 2004 Daytona 500 win.
Earnhardt will sport his famous racing stripes for a limited number of Late Model Stock Car races in 2024 and 2025, and he teased his car’s return ahead of Saturday’s race.

He hasn’t manned the cockpit of that storied Budweiser No. 8 car for 17 years, but the significance of the opportunity — starting with Saturday’s contest at Florence — isn’t lost on Junior.
“It is an incredible opportunity for me to be able to reunite with Budweiser, and the No.8,” Earnhardt Jr. said in a press release. “Budweiser and I had some great memories with that iconic scheme and number. We’ve always supported each other over the years. It’s going to be really special for me to be able to represent that brand on the racetrack again.”
