Erling Haaland’s Champions League goal record: How many Man City striker needs to pass Cristiano Ronaldo for single season mark
Manchester City wrapped up the 2022/23 season with an incredible trophy treble including a first ever Champions League title for the blue half of Manchester.
Erling Haaland’s outrageous first year at the club played a vital role in City’s success as the Norwegian smashed a string of goal records.
Haaland’s sensational first campaign in England ended with 52 goals scored across all competitions, including 36 in the Premier League.
That haul broke the Premier League record for goals scored in one season, overtaking Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.
He wrapped up the season with 12 Champions League goals, to also win the tournament Golden Boot, but he fell short of breaking Cristiano Ronaldo’s 2014 record.
