Everton vs Arsenal lineups, starting 11s, team news for Premier League match as Arteta ponders changes
Everton will look to cause an upset when they welcome Arsenal to Goodison Park in the Premier League on Sunday.
Sean Dyche’s side remain winless in the competition after four match days, picking up just one point from an available 12 as the Toffees once again look to be heading towards a relegation battle this season.
There was big news off the pitch this week for the club as Farhad Moshiri agreed to sell his entire stakeholding of 94.1% to American investment firm 777 Partners. It remains to be seen whether that deal will go through for now, subject to approval from the Premier League, but it at least takes a bit of the spotlight off of Dyche and his side this weekend.
Visitors Arsenal headed into the international break after defeating Manchester United 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium thanks to late strikes from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus. That result made it an unbeaten start to the campaign for the Gunners, who have taken ten points so far as they look to mount another title challenge this season.
Manager Mikel Arteta will have been pleased to see that all of his players came through the international break unscathed and without injury, though he still has plenty of decisions to make here regarding his starting XI. That namely focuses on Kai Havertz and whether the German midfielder has done enough so far this campaign to keep his place.

Everton vs Arsenal lineups
Both sides are dealing with multiple long-term injuries, though both managers still have plenty of choice ahead of this Premier League clash.
Everton’s biggest loss comes in the form of new winger Jack Harrison — who they signed from Leeds on loan — who likely remains sidelined for this clash. Michael Keane could also miss out due to taking a recent knock.
After an impressive summer transfer window, Arsenal lost new defender Jurien Timber to a long-term ACL layoff which weakens their squad depth. Thomas Partey also remains in the stands as he fights back from his latest set back.
Everton starting 11
Everton projected lineup (4-2-3-1, right to left): Pickford (GK) — Patterson, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Young — Onana, Gueye — Danjuma, Doucoure, McNeil — Beto
- Injured: Coleman, Alli
- Doubtful: Harrison, Gomes, Keane
- Suspended: None
Dominic Calvert-Lewin is available again after recovering from a facial injury to hand Dyche a huge boost in attack, although recent arrival Beto is poised to lead the line once more. Jack Harrison (groin) remains out but Dwight McNeil is pushing for his first Premier League start of the season, possibly at the expense of James Garner.
Arsenal starting 11
Arsenal projected lineup (4-1-4-1, right to left): Ramsdale (GK) — White, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinchenko — Rice — Saka, Havertz, Odegaard, Martinelli — Nketiah
- Injured: Partey, Timber, Elneny
- Doubtful: None
- Suspended: None
Thomas Partey (groin) remains on the sidelines for Arsenal, along with long-term absentee Jurrien Timber (ACL). Arteta was buoyed by the 16 players who departed on international duty all returning unscathed.
