How to watch UFC Vegas 80: Date, time, channel, odds, card for Grant Dawson vs Bobby Green

The UFC lightweight division continues to shine bright, with several contenders waiting to prove they deserve a title fight. A veteran of the game, Bobby Green, looks to get back on the right track against a surging Grant Dawson at UFC Vegas 80. The bout takes place at UFC’s APEX Center and will air on ESPN+ on October 7.

Dawson turned pro in 2014. He competed in the first Dana White’s Contender Series in 2017, impressing against Adrian Diaz. “KGD” has gone 8-0-1 since but has missed weight twice. After fighting Ricky Glenn to a draw, Dawson won three in a row, including a win in his last fight against Damir Ismagulov in July.

Green turned pro in 2008 and has competed for Affliction, King of the Cage, and Strikeforce. The former KOTC lightweight and junior welterweight champion joined the UFC in 2013. “King” has faced some of the toughest fighters in the division and is 2-2 with one no-contest in his last five. In July, he won his first fight since 2022 when he beat Tony Ferguson.

Dawson is 10th in the UFC’s lightweight rankings, while Green is outside the top 15. While unusual, Dawson doesn’t seem to mind and is just ready to fight.

“Matchups don’t make any sense to me anyway,” Dawson said to MMA Junkie. “I’m not a really big, ‘anything outside the champion is just a suggestion.’ The rankings change every single day. If he beats me on Saturday night, then the matchup wasn’t that weird.

“I’m taking Bobby Green very seriously. I know how good he is, and I’m going to be honest with you, I think a win over Bobby Green does more for my career than a couple of wins over some other guys in the top 15. I just think he’s got that much star power, he’s that big of a veteran, and I’m expecting the best Bobby Green on Saturday night.”
