Janibek Alimkhanuly vs. Vincenzo Gualtieri full card results: Dominant Janibek unifies middleweight division
On Saturday, Janibek Alimkhanuly needed six rounds to beat down Vincenzo Gualtieri and add the IBF middleweight title to his WBA version in a fight that seemed closer to a sparring session than a competitive affair. The man known as “The Boogeyman” was satisfied with his win and is now eager to consolidate all the belts.
Alimkhanuly (15-0, 10 KOs) chased gold for years and believed he was being avoided. Following his performance against Gualtieri, it’s easy to see why.
In Round 1, both men were looking for weaknesses. Gualtieri used his legs and selected moments to attack the body on the inside. Janibek used his power to force his opponent to the ropes and the pattern was set. A jab and a left cross hurt Gualtieri as Janibek began to find his rhythm.
Round 2 saw both fighters trade jabs, with Janibek landing the sharper shots. A counter uppercut by Janibek landed as he was on his back foot and he stayed on the move throughout the remainder of the round.

Janibek was the aggressor as Round 3. A left uppercut from the Kazakhstani landed after multiple jabs. He then attacked the body when Gualtieri found himself against the ropes.
Gualtieri tried to open up in the fourth, but Janibek made him pay for his bravery. Trapped against the ropes again, the German fighter struggled to evade shots and sustained plenty of damage.

Boxing is about levels.
Janibek stalked Gualtieri and he’d definitely found his range by the fifth. He landed body and head shots while Gualtieri struggled to score and soaked up the punishment. An uppercut hurt Gualtieri, and Janibek went on the attack once again. Somehow Gualtieri survived the assault but he was only delaying the inevitable.
As Gualtieri attempted a shot in the sixth, Janibek landed a counter uppercut that pushed him back. When Gualtieri continued to absorb punishment against the ropes, the referee, who had given him every chance to fight back, had seen enough.
JANIBEK IS TOO MUCH.

Per CompuBox, Janibek landed 82 of 243 shots (34%), while Gualtieri landed only 22 of 85 shots (26%). The new unified champ scored 60% of his power shots and only landed single-digit shots in the first round. Gualtieri had his unbeaten streak snapped in the German’s first fight in the U.S.
