Lakers’ LeBron James makes bold claim about son Bronny ahead of rookie season
The Los Angeles Lakers made LeBron James’ dream come true over the offseason when the team selected Bronny James in the second round of the NBA Draft.
The oldest James was asked about how No. 9 (Bronny James) looks during the team’s media day on Monday, and his response may turn some heads.
The future Hall of Famer replied “He looks damn good. He looks better than I did my rookie year”
Despite the high praise from his father, there’s no denying that the second-round pick has big shoes to fill entering his rookie season.
The USC product averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists across 25 games with the Trojans during his rookie season. Following the season, the guard entered the draft and the NCAA Transfer Portal while keeping his options open during the NBA Combine.
Nonetheless, the youngest James chose to forego his sophomore season and take his talents to the league at 19 years old, just one year older than his father.
Although their paths are different, the 6-foot-2 playmaker has been compared to his father from the jump. However, it can safely be said that it’s very unlikely his rookie season will be anywhere close to his father’s.
Nonetheless, with his raw talent and one of the best basketball players to ever play the game guiding him, there’s a chance one day he will manage to live up to the high expectations set for him from the jump.
