No Masataka Yoshida in lineup for Red Sox vs. A’s on Tuesday
After downing them 9-0 in the first game of a three-game series on Monday night at Oakland Coliseum, the Boston Red Sox are set to take on the Oakland Athletics again on Tuesday night with a chance to earn their first series win of the 2024 season.
Prior to Tuesday’s action, manager Alex Cora turned in a lineup card that features a change to the group playing behind Brayan Bello.
- LF Jarren Duran
- RF Tyler O’Neill
- 3B Rafael Devers
- SS Trevor Story
- 2B Pablo Reyes
- DH Triston Casas
- CF Ceddanne Rafaela
- 1B Bobby Dalbec
- C Connor Wong
Every day designated hitter Masataka Yoshida is off on Tuesday with the team facing a lefty.
Bello is coming off of a solid outing against the Seattle Mariners on Opening Day when he tossed five innings of two-run ball while giving up five hits and striking out two.
On the other side, Boston’s lineup will take on veteran Alex Wood, who was shelled for six runs on seven hits in just over three innings of work against the Cleveland Indians in Oakland’s first game of the year.
Obviously, anything can happen, but the Red Sox seem to have a strong chance to earn their fourth win of the year and potentially move into second place in the AL East.
