What channel is Blackhawks vs. Bruins on today? Time, TV schedule to watch 2023 NHL season opener

For the second consecutive evening, fans are treated to Connor Bedard on the national stage. Chicago is back in primetime, as the Blackhawks take on the Bruins Wednesday night in Boston.

Bedard made his NHL debut last and he did not disappoint. The No. 1 pick from 2023 picked up his first professional point, grabbing an assist en route to his club’s 4-2 comeback win over the Penguins on NHL opening night.

After falling behind 2-0, Bedard helped set up a Ryan Donato goal in the second period to open the scoring for his club. It was the first of four unanswered goals by Chicago, as Cole Guttman and Jason Dickinson each lit the lamp in the third before a Nick Foligno empty net goal sealed the victory.

It’s a quick turnover for Chicago, as the team heads west to Massachusetts for a date with the 2023 Presidents’ Trophy winners. Boston broke the NHL record for the most wins and most points in a regular season, finishing the year with 65 victories and 135 points. However, the Bruins collapsed in the first round of the playoffs, blowing a 3-1 series lead to the Panthers.

It’s a different feel in Boston, as longtime star center Patrice Bergeron decided to hang up the skates this offseason after 19 years in the league, all with the Bruins. With David Krejci electing not to return, it has left Jim Cassidy’s team with some major question marks down the middle of the ice. However, the club still has a talented core in place, consisting of David Pastrnak, Charlie McAvoy, Hampus Lindholm and Brad Marchand.
