The last UFC video game was three years ago. Since then, there have been plenty of new stars in the promotion and advancements in the gaming industry. In steps UFC 5.
Developed by EA Vancouver on the Frostbite Engine, the publisher says: “From unrivaled graphics upgrades to all-new damage systems and doctor stoppages that affect gameplay in truly authentic fashion, UFC 5 is the next evolution of the fight game.”
Can’t wait to play the game? Fight fans can test the game and their toughness inside the octagon via Early Access. Following Early Access, the Deluxe Edition is available on October 27.

EA UFC 5 features, changes
Features of EA UFC 5 include authentic visual graphics as if you are watching an actual fight inside the octagon. That includes damage (cuts, bruises, and over 64,000 possible combinations of facial damage), a doctor checking for a swollen eye, and all-new animations for strikes, from on the feet to ground and pound elbows. There will also be a removal of mini-games and faster animations.
The game features several modes, including:
- Participating in your own fight week
- Playing to earn rewards: in-game currency and character customizations
- Athlete alter ego opportunities (available for Bruce Lee, Conor McGregor, Israel Adesanya, etc.) and an opportunity to play as Mike Tyson and Fedor Emelianenko
- The first Career Mode that features custom matchmaking, division progression, and the opportunity to fight for gold
The Standard Edition of EA UFC 5 is $69.99, but fans can also get the higher-tier Deluxe Edition for $99.99.

When is EA UFC 5 Early Access?
Early Access for EA UFC 5 is available starting October 24, three days before the full game launches.
It will be a 10-hour trial, and fans can play UFC 5 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. An EA Play subscription is required on these devices for access.
Once you select the trial version on your console, the game automatically downloads. A 10% discount is available if you subscribe to EA Play and switch from trial to full-purchase.
