Where to watch LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders stream, channel, lineups, time, prediction for MLS playoffs

Major League Soccer’s most fearsome attacking unit has made it to the Western Conference as the LA Galaxy, the last remaining top-three seed in either conference, host the Seattle Sounders one match away from the MLS Cup final.

The Galaxy were mired in a multi-year slump, but the arrival of Riqui Puig, Joseph Paintsil, Gabriel Pec, and Marco Reus have transformed this side into the most potent front line in the U.S. league. They pummeled Minnesota United 6-2 in the conference semifinals after putting up nine goals on the Colorado Rapids across two Round One games.

They’ll want to be wary of the Sounders, though, who ended their rivals’ season last time out, knocking off LAFC with a 2-1 come-from-behind victory. LAFC went in front in the 50th minute and seemed in control of the match, but an own-goal on the hour mark was followed by Jordan Morris’s dramatic 109th-minute winner.

The Galaxy will see the rest of the field and know this is their best chance at a return to MLS glory, but the Sounders have already played spoiler once.

LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders lineups & team news

The pause for the international break has helped both sides gain nearly full fitness, and the Galaxy have the benefit of being able to rest players once they gained a big lead over Minnesota United last weekend. The only player for the Galaxy absent for today is Uruguay international Martin Caceres who is out for the year with an Achilles tear.

Otherwise, everyone is fit and available for the side. The attacking duo of Joseph Paintsil and Gabriel Pec supported by the gorgeous creativity from Riqui Puig has torn MLS opponents to shreds this year, and all three are in exceptional form.

After coming off the bench in the two Round One games, Marco Reus returned to the starting lineup last weekend and was fantastic.

LA Galaxy projected starting lineup (4-3-3): McCarthy (GK) — Yamane, Garces, Yoshida, Nelson — Reus, Cerrillo, Puig — Pec, Joveljic, Paintsil.

Jordan Morris missed the decisive second Round One match against Houston due to injury but has returned to training and started the win over LAFC. So too did 2024 team MVP Albert Rusnak who was a doubt thanks to hip tightness but returned.

The news is worse for striker Danny Musovski, whose status for the rest of the playoffs is unclear after suffering a quad injury. Seattle’s all-time leading goal scorer Raul Ruidiaz will be ready to step in up front if needed, and it seems possible that Nouhou could be back to match fitness after missing the LAFC game due to illness.

Seattle Sounders projected starting lineup (4-2-3-1): Frei (GK) — A. Roldan, Gomez, Ragen, Nouhou — C. Roldan, Vargas — de la Vega, Rusnak, Rothrock — Morris.

LA Galaxy vs. Seattle Sounders prediction, betting odds & lines

  • Score prediction: LA Galaxy 3-1 Seattle Sounders

The Galaxy are in insane attacking form, and have pummeled everyone in their path over the last month. Since the start of September, they put four goals up on LAFC in El Trafico, four on Vancouver, three on Colorado, then nine on Colorado across two playoff games, and six on Minnesota last round.

The Sounders survived against LAFC with a late comeback, but they’ll have to contend with the league’s most potent attack for 90 minutes if they want a chance at the MLS Cup.
